Of the millions and millions of cicada shells I've seen in my life (give or take a few), I've never seen one actualy molt. Cool capture.

We have the cicada killer wasps in our yard and driveway. They kept getting worse each year and we had to spray as our 3 year old started getting scared. They are better this summer, but they are big and look very mean. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cicada_killer_wasp

Thanks for letting me know about your pictures! Emme and I looked at them and discussed it! Last year we went on a cicada hunt and she was the first of us to find one who had just come out of his shell! It was just amazing!
